Lucid Motors is seeking a highly motivated High Voltage Test Engineer to support the development, validation, and verification of high-voltage (HV) and vehicle charging systems. This role involves designing and executing test plans for onboard chargers, high-voltage power electronics, and related vehicle charging components. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, operate test equipment, analyze data, conduct QA testing and contribute to the advancement of Lucid’s EV technology. Key Responsibilities include conducting QA testing to verify system functionality, reliability, and compliance; developing and executing test plans for HV powertrain components such as onboard chargers; operating and maintaining high-voltage test equipment, power supplies, electronic loads, and mechanical test setups; performing validation and safety testing including electrical, thermal, and mechanical assessments; collaborating with engineers and vendors to define test methodologies and ensure compliance with standards such as J1772, ISO 15118, and J3400; supporting hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) / HV Buck converter testing of the charging system, implementing automated test cases; designing, building, and maintaining test benches for both high and low-voltage systems; automating data logging and analysis using tools like Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Canape, Canaylzer; troubleshooting and diagnosing test failures, working with software, hardware, and systems engineers to resolve issues; and ensuring proper documentation of test procedures, results, and design improvements. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related technical field (Master's preferred), 2+ years of test engineering experience, in-depth knowledge of power electronics topologies for AC/DC and DC/DC conversion, ability to develop simulation models and control designs, experience with C code and micro-controller peripherals, familiarity with charging standards and product safety concepts, and proficiency with Jama, Jira/Confluence.
